Has Funding Suite appeared on your credit report? Here's why.

What is Funding Suite?

Funding Suite is a software platform used by mortgage lenders to order credit reports. Cogent Road is the software company that designs, codes and markets the Funding Suite application to mortgage lender’s nationwide. When a consumer applies for a mortgage loan a credit report will be ordered from Experian, Equifax and Transunion. Our software is used to gather the data from each of the three bureaus to create a single, easy to read credit report for the lender. These credit reports are called “tri-merge” mortgage credit reports are used specifically for mortgage qualifying.

Why does “Funding Suite” appear as an inquiry on my credit report?

When a mortgage lender uses Funding Suite software to purchase a mortgage credit report on your behalf, one or more of the credit bureaus will list the software provider that accessed the credit report rather than the mortgage lender. If you see this, you may contact us through the form below and leave your phone number. We will ask a few questions to verify your identity and then will inform you of the specific individual and company that accessed your credit file.

Why is Funding Suite contacting me by telephone?

During the mortgage application processes certain items must be verified on the consumers credit report. For example, in order to qualify for the mortgage lenders may require that certain credit cards have been paid down or that a recent mortgage payment has been made. Regulations require that a contracted third party (such as Funding Suite) perform these verifications directly with the creditors involved. For security purposes a Funding Suite representative will arrange a conference call to ensure the consumer is on the line while the information is verified with the creditor. Since these verifications are required by your mortgage lender, if you have received a message to call Funding Suite please do so at your earliest convenience.
